Fort Kids

Fort Kids Ministry

At Fort Baptist, our kids are a key part of our church; we value their presence and the opportunity to teach them the love of Christ. We provide a safe place where children can come and learn about Jesus Christ. We want to support parents and guardians through teaching the truths found in Scripture in order to provide children with a biblical foundation for building their lives upon. Children will learn about Christ through age-appropriate scripture reading, prayer, and Bible lessons while also engaging in activities that reinforce the bible lesson. We offer Fort Kids the first 3 Sundays of the month, and every Wednesday night at 6:45!

What to Expect on Sundays

First, when you enter the Church, we have a welcome table to the left of the sanctuary entrance. You will meet a Fort Kids' worker at the welcome table and they will help you check your child into our system. They will provide you with instructions on how to pick up your child at the end of the service.

Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):

  • Parent/guardian name(s)
  • Child's name
  • Child's birthdate
  • Phone number
  • Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children

Second, children Kindergarten to 5th grade will enter the Sanctuary with their parent(s)/guardian(s). At Fort Baptist, we desire for children to be a part of worship with their family. Children have the opportunity to learn about worship and how to worship as they watch youth and adults worship Christ. As they grow and enter youth age, children will have a better understanding of corporate worship.

Third, at the end of worship, Fort Kids will be dismissed for an age-appropriate service with our Fort Kids teachers. Children will have a great time engaging with the Bible lesson that includes prayer, scripture memory, activities, and games!

Fourth, Family Worship Day takes place on the 4th and 5th Sundays of each month. We have a desire to help reinforce the family discipleship model outlined in scripture. Family worship days are where the kids Kindergarten to 5th grade join their families for the full worship service where we worship collectively through songs, prayer, and preaching. Families grow closer to Christ together and leave service after experiencing worship together.

Fifth, safety is a priority at Fort Kids and we strive to create a safe place for our children and adults to worship. Our Fort Kids Ministry workers have updated background checks and are trained to work in the Fort Kids Ministry. Training is a priority at Fort Baptist, and we require year round training sessions for our Fort Kids Ministry workers. Fort Baptist keeps the building and all rooms safe and secure.
