Fort Students' December Newsletter

Fort Student Wednesday Nights

November has flown by at Fort Students, and it has been truly unique. We have had successful events and experiences as God has moved tremendously for us this past month. Two students gave their lives to Christ during Fort Students in November! We are also averaging about 20 students in attendance on Wednesday nights, which is fantastic! The Lord has been so good to us!

The students this past month have also grown in their faith in God as they have seen what He has done in their lives and community. As we continue to go through the book of Matthew, the students have been learning about the character and nature of God as we study His Word. We want to thank you for your support, and we ask you to keep the students and leadership at Fort Students in your prayers as we fulfill God's will for our lives.

Fort Students Serving Laveview Fort Oglethorpe HS

On November 3rd, Fort Students served our community by feeding the Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School's football team. We served them an early dinner before their game on senior night. Youth Minister Donny Lewis preached the gospel during that time, and we had a great time sharing God's love with our community and serving them.

We want to thank you for your prayers and support as we serve God by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others and showing His love to our community.

Lock-In November 19, 2023

The Lock-in on November 19th was a great success, from the excellent worship service and sermon to all the fun dark games, movies, food, and fellowship. The Lock-In was indeed a night to remember. We broke our attendance record by having 31 students in attendance, and Youth Minister Donny Lewis kept his word and shaved his head but not his beard. Our Student Worship Leader, Travis Prentice, took it upon himself to take Donny's place, and Travis's beard was shaved instead. Truly Epic.

Thank you for your prayers and support and to those who helped serve in the Lock-in. This Lock-In was awesome, and we look forward to having a better Lock-In next year.

Breakfast Fundraiser

We will continue our breakfast fundraiser in December to raise funds for Camp and other activities into next year. All items at the Breakfast fundraiser are only one dollar and will still be held between our 9:30 AM and 11 AM services each Sunday. We have currently raised over $1000 between this fundraiser and the chicken salad fundraiser! God is so good! The breakfast fundraiser has continued to be successful, and we would like to thank you for your support. It means a lot to us as we serve God and do His will for our lives.

Christmas Party December 17, 2023

On December 17, 2023, we will be having a Christmas party from 6PM-8PM. For those who attended our game night in October of this year, the Christmas party will be at the same location at the Prentice Residence. There will be video games, food, fun and great fellowship.

We would like to thank Travis and Cheredith Prentice for opening there home for this Christmas party to Fort Students as they have an eagerness to serve the Lord and we also like to ask you to keep them in your prayer as they serve the Lord faithfully.

Fort Students Christmas Service December 20, 2023

On December 20, 2023, we will have a Christmas Service on our regular Wednesday night service at Fort Students. We will have Christmas music during our worship time, and we will also have a Ugly Sweater contest with prizes during this service.

We encourage any student to bring a friend to attend service as we have a great night of service.

December Student Spotlight - Lily Abston

This month at Fort Students, we would like to recognize Lily Abston. When Fort Students has service on Wednesday nights, you can count on Lily to be in attendance. Lily has brought her friends to service to hear the Word of God, and she listens diligently to the sermons presented to her. Lily is willing and eager to serve God; by this example, she shows her fellow students how to lead a life in obedience to God as her faith in God grows daily.

Please keep Lily and the rest of Fort Students in your prayers as we serve God and do His will.
